I was staring at Tools commands for ages & it was right there in plain sight (my age perhaps?)
... Command select the required & press Shift C, why didn't I think of that. Thanks for the pointer!

I assume the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+S) doesn't work either?

I would like Xnview to rename files automatically if I'm saving and a file with the same name already exists. I can't find this feature. Is there a way to do this?

Ah sorry didn't quite get what you meant.
Yes a custom section would be fine, though a quick way to also access this information while in view mode would be most convenient.

Welcome to the forum, Xanadu.

XnView opens HPI (Hemera Photo Objects) as multi-page images.

You have to extract both pages, …

• XnView: Viewer/Editor » Tools» Multipage file» Extract All Into...
• XnConvert: Output» Multipage» Convert all pages from multipage file
• nConvert: -xall (Extract all images)

… and then combine the two using the 2nd page as alpha-channel mask:

• XnConvert: Actions» Add action >>» Image» Add mask» Use mask as alpha

On desktop, the license is per computer. On terminal server, it's per user

And yes it's a perpetual licenses, all upgrade are free

Hi Pierre, first of all let me say thank you for your attention concerning this question. I've been using your application for about 2 weeks and it is a great image browser, once a little time has been spent to learn the details like file type colour coding for example.

I'm not sure what you mean by open the full image. Do you mean open it to be edited with XnViewMP's own toolset? At the moment I can only see the Affinity Photo app. icon for their files, so I'd be happy to review & compare the actual images like XnView can do for tifs, jpgs and all the others.

Instead of ghostscript you can use a very simple opensource library http://www.foolabs.com/xpdf/home.html or free software http://pdf-to-jpg-convert.en.softonic.com
ghostscript is more of a general conversion and virtual printer software while the above ones are specific to PDF to JPG image conversion.

Trying to install XnViewMP-linux-x64.deb from your homepage.
The icon and the start-file in /usr7bin/xnview get installed, but it doesn work.
Nothing happens.
When I try to start from the Terminal, I get this result:
hans@hans-advent:~$ /usr/bin/xnview
/opt/XnView/XnView: error while loading shared libraries: libgstapp-0.10.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

• Limited support (e.g. CorelDRAW CDR, SketchUP SKP)
  XnView extracts the embedded preview which is sufficient for generating a thumbnail etc.
• Full support (e.g. Photoshop PSD)
  XnView opens the image in full resolution as a multi-page file, loading each layer as a new page.
