Using XnViewMP v0.83 for Linux on a LinuxLite (Ubuntu) laptop (x64). Works well on 40,000 jpg’s, but hangs when it encounters an mp4 video file. Same Linux laptop, loaded W-XP into a VM VirtualBox and installed XnViewMP v0.83 for Windows in the VM and it works perfectly. Any ideas as to what I can do to fix the Linux version?
As a workaround for Linux I set Tools>Settings>File List>Custom Filter>Video to open with an associated program (VLC Media Player). This works well when selecting the mp4 from the thumbnail image, VLC opens and runs as expected, but when running an XnView slide show the mp4 is opened by XnView and hangs. Studying the XnViewMP .ini file I do not see an obvious entry for the slide show function to open the associated program. Where is the slideshow switch?
Thanks.
