An easy-to-use tool for backing up your hard drives and partitions.
The program delivers the core basics only. There's no include/ exclude filters, password protection, deduplication, cloud support or anything even faintly advanced.
This does at least keep operations very simple. Choose a drive or partition to back up, a destination folder, frequency, and you're ready to go. All these options are presented on the main screen, which means you can have your first backup running in seconds.
There are a few extra tweaks, if you need them, including setting a maximum number of backups to keep.
Backups are saved as virtual disks in the VMDK format, perhaps convenient if you need to use them elsewhere. They can be mounted as virtual drives for browsing or restoring individual files and folders. You're also able to restore a full backup, either from Ashampoo Backup 2016 or its bootable recovery disc.
