Do the tools read .ithmb files?

I was hoping to convert some old Apple ipod .ithmb files to .jpgs, but it does not appear that xnviewmp recognizes .ithmb files. xnviewmp makes no attempt to render the files, although xnconvert does attempt to render them, although they appear as noise.

I'm guessing it's a matter of operator error, but I would appreciate if you could point me in the right direction on how to use these tools to convert .ithmb files to .jpg files.

I've enclosed an original file, and a screen-scrape of what xnconvert rendered.
